I've published my first draft of a "The structure of DICOM". It's clear from comments and descriptions that very few people understand what DICOM covers or how the pieces fit together. This will be revised from time to time based on comments, and extended with other pages.
This is aimed at the information architect who wants to know what are the major subjects covered by DICOM, where is the information found, and how is the DICOM documentation organized. That seems to be a major gap.
